YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyun-suk announced the highly awaited reunion of the legendary girl group, 2NE1 and BLACKPINK's global tour.

K-pop fans have multiple reasons to celebrate as 2025 is shaping up to be an exciting year, thanks to recent exciting announcements from YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyun-suk. Fans are thrilled to hear about a series of major plans, including the highly awaited reunion of legendary girl group, 2NE1 and a global tour of BLACKPINK. The lineup also features performances from other YG star groups like BabyMonster, TREASURE, WINNER and AKMU. On the other hand, Hyun-suk also dropped hints about introducing a new group, which he referred to as the Next Monster, who are expected to make a big impact very soon. While Yang Hyun-suk didn’t share the exact dates and venues for the upcoming events, it’s clear that 2025 will be jam-packed for YG’s top talent.

According to the announcement, 2NE1, who disbanded in 2017 following the release of their final song Goodbye, are excited to reunite for a world tour to celebrate their 15th anniversary. Yang Hyun-suk shared that the group’s members, Bom, CL, Dara and Minzy, “informed me that they’d like to hold a concert. So we caught up and happily discussed making it all happen within this year. I think this concert will be quite special. It resonates with those who grew up with 2NE1’s music, sharing those memories and they have an incredible number of hit songs. So all the staff are working hard together to create a successful show.”

YG Entertainment founder further mentioned that the 2NE1’s reunion concert is expected to begin in October in Seoul, South Korea. Following this, the group will travel to Japan, as performances are scheduled in Osaka and Tokyo towards the end of November and December.

Talking about the 2025 schedule, Yang Hyun-suk said, “I can’t say we have specific plans yet but I think a lot of artists will be active simultaneously.”

The biggest news for fans is Blackpink’s comeback after their Born Pink World Tour, which wrapped up in September 2023. Before going on a world tour next year, Jennie, Lisa, Rose and Jisoo are set to reunite for their eighth-anniversary celebration, titled OUR AREA WITH BLINK on August 8. The upcoming event will be the group’s first joint appearance after almost a year, as the members were focused on their solo projects.

Apart from Blackpink and 2NE1, YG Entertainment’s other girl group BabyMonster and the popular boy band TREASURE will also kick off their world tours at the end of this year. WINNER’s Mino and Yoon, who are set to complete their military service by the year-end, are also expected to tour next year. Meanwhile, AKMU’s sibling duo, Lee Su-hyun and Lee Chan-hyuk, will be hitting the stage for fans next year.
