A real-life Bloodline member has reacted to WWE’s heartfelt tribute to Roman Reigns’ Father, the late Sika Anoa’i on social media. Sika passed away on June 25 at the age of 79. No specific cause of his death was disclosed at the time of his death. Following the tremendous loss, it is likely the Anoa’I family is currently going through a tough time.
During the June 28 episode of Friday Night SmackDown the company showcased Sika’s career in a touching video. The clip was also posted on a billboard outside Pen Station. It led to one of the family members Lance Anoa’I taking to Instagram to share a picture of the tribute on his Instagram. “WWE and MSG remember Sika Anoa’I 1945-2024,” the billboard read.
The passing away of Sika Anoa’I was revealed by Roman Reigns’ nephew Jahrus Anoa’I on Instagram. Sika was a prominent force in the WWE (then WWF) in the 1970s. He is particularly known for a tag-team partnership with his brother Afa Anoa’O as the Wild Samoans. The duo also ended up winning the WWE Tag Team Championship titles three times. Nearly four decades later, the Wild Samoans were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2007. Sika had made a ton of impact outside his career as well. He co-founded the Wild Samoan Training Facility alongside his brother Afa. The duo mentored and shaped the careers of future WWE stars like Batista.

As for Lance Anoa’I, the 32-year-old is also a professional wrestler like his other family members. He currently works on the independent scene. Lance has previously competed under the banner of some major wrestling promotions including the likes of Pro Wrestling Noah and Major League Wrestling (MLW). He also held the MLW World Tag Team Championship on one occasion. While Lance might not have made a big splash like his cousins, he had a couple of tryouts with WWE between 2015 and 2019. However, he just couldn’t make the cut.
With Roman Reigns’ absence from the company, a lot of drama is currently revolving around The Bloodline. Solo Sikoa has claimed his spot on Reigns’ throne as the new Tribal Chief. On the latest SmackDown episode, Sikoa revealed Jacob Fatu as a new enforcer in The Bloodline. Given how several members of the Samoan family have recently debuted on SmackDown, Lance Anoa’I could also possibly sign a contract with the company.
