It is a known fact that King Cobra is one of the most venomous snakes in the world. It is typically black with light-coloured markings. One unique video is currently trending, where a person is feeding a rare breed of Cobra. The man is feeding another snake breed to the Cobra. In this video shared on Instagram, the man is holding the King Cobra. This is a special white coloured breed that is said to be very rare. Although it is white, its eyes are not pink like albinos. In these snakes, the body is completely white due to the absence of a special element called melanin. This is a condition in which part of the animal’s normal colour is missing. There can be many reasons for such colour. What is special about the video is that this snake is eating another snake. In this video, the person is seen opening the glass door of a drawer and placing another snake in it for the white snake.
The big white snake quickly swallows the small black snake in its mouth. After that, the person closes the glass again. In the caption, the person has clearly written that he is feeding the leucistic King Cobra. At the same time, a person is asking in the comment section, “what is happening?” The user asks, “Is the snake dying? Or is it something else? Why are you doing this?”
This video was recently shared on Instagram. It has received more than one lakh views so far. In the comment section, most of the users have expressed their displeasure over it. One wrote in a comment that this snake will eat you too one day!
In another incident, an extremely rare and potentially deadly Albino Cobra had to be removed from a house in India after the white snake slithered inside during a heavy rainstorm.
Neighbours spotted the pale Cobra climbing out of fast-flowing water onto the ground and into a passageway next to the house in Coimbatore in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu on May 3. Experts from the Wildlife and Nature Conservation Trust (WNCT) later arrived to safely capture the snake, which was then released into the wild.
The 1.5-metre-long snake was identified as an Indian Albino Cobra (Naja naja), WNCT officials said on Facebook. The species, also known as the spectacled cobra, is considered one of the ‘big four’ snake species responsible for most snakebite cases in India.
