'Remember Who We Are': Biden Stresses Unity In New Post As Kamala Harris Hails His ‘Unmatched Legacy’

US President Joe Biden on Monday in his first social media post after dropping out of the White House race urged Americans to remember who they are and said Americans can achieve everything if they remain together.

“We are the United States of America – there’s nothing we can’t do if we do it together. We just have to remember who we are," Joe Biden said.

He said he is honoured to be the President of the US and will dedicate his presidency to proving that Americans can achieve everything if they remain united.

“I’ve dedicated my presidency to proving that, and I’ll continue to do so today, tomorrow, and every day that I have the honour of being your president," Biden said.

Meanwhile, Kamala Harris hailed her boss’s legacy as “unmatched in modern history," in her first remarks since Joe Biden dropped out of the 2024 presidential race and endorsed her candidacy.

Biden’s record is “unmatched in modern history," Harris said at an event at the White House. “In one term, he has already surpassed the legacy of most presidents who have served two terms in office."

Harris presided over a White House celebration for championship college basketball teams.

She will later embark on her first trip to campaign headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware.

She did not reference her own sudden elevation to presidential candidate in the brief remarks. But the symbolism of the current vice president having the White House to herself in the absence of Biden, who is nursing a Covid infection at his Delaware beach house, was striking.
