While Sumona Chakravarti wasn't a part of The Great Indian Kapil Show, she will soon be seen in Khatron Ke Khiladi 14, which will premiere on July 27.

Sumona Chakravarti is finally back to India after shooting for Khatron Ke Khiladi 14 in Romania. While she wasn’t here, a report did the rounds claiming she did not leave The Kapil Sharma Show by choice but was rather not informed about the comedian’s new show, The Great Indian Kapil Show. It was also claimed that Sumona was disheartened and “upset” with Kapil. However, the former Bade Achhe Lagte Hai actress has now clarified that this is not the case.

In an exclusive conversation with News18 Showsha, Sumona Chakravarti made it clear that she wasn’t fired from Kapil Sharma’s show. “It is so weird because literally a few days ago, there was a very nice article. I had spoken to a journalist and had said exactly the opposite thing. Then, of course, two days later another publication decided to write an article which said completely the opposite. I had nothing to say because I was also in Romania,” she said.

“I have said this time and again, I was part of a show which ended in July last year and it’s not like you exited or I resigned or I got fired, the show ended in July and after that, we all went ahead. We took up our individual projects after that. I’m doing Khatron Ke Khiladi. He (Kapil Sharma) did another show. It’s just that there is no bad blood at all. Why would I be upset (with Kapil)? He and I worked before and I went to Romania,” she said.

Asked if she gets disheartened when she reads negative reports about herself, the 36-year-old actress explained, “Not anymore. Back in my day, maybe 20 years ago. when I started a career, then maybe yes. Now I’m too old for this. And I have a very simple line that I say quite often and I will say it now also – your opinion of me is not my responsibility.”

While Sumona wasn’t a part of The Great Indian Kapil Show, she will soon be seen in Khatron Ke Khiladi 14, which will premiere on July 27. Talking about the same, the actress said, “I have surprised myself to be very honest. So yeah, I have. I mean, looking back I’m really excited for the show to come on air because I want to see myself. I want to watch how I did, what I did.”
