Despite his memorable performance as a child actor in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Jibraan Khan faced the same challenges as any aspiring actor when trying to break into Bollywood. His lineage as the son of the esteemed veteran actor Firoz Khan didn’t provide him with any shortcuts. Jibraan had to prove his mettle by reaching out to filmmakers and seeking opportunities, which ultimately led to his recent Bollywood debut.

Khan, now 30, revealed that his path to stardom has diverged significantly from that of other star kids, emphasizing that he doesn’t identify with “that world." Reflecting on his challenging path to his debut, he told Hindustan Times , “If it were that easy, I would have been launched years ago. With K3G approaching its 25th anniversary in two years, it’s clear how much time has passed. I believe the industry is segmented, and I belong to a part where such connections aren’t a given."

He continued, “I remember that, this incident had happened once where I was a frustrated 20 year old and then I told him, take me somewhere, you have worked with all the big names, people know you, you are respected and relevant, so what’s the matter. He said, Jibraan you tell me, I will take you and they turn around and say ‘Firoz Bhai he doesn’t look like an actor. How would that feel?’ and I think that was a very big turning point in my life."

The debutant is ecstatic about making his entry into films as a lead actor but remains keen on preserving the recognition he earned from his role as Shah Rukh Khan’s son in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, “Till date I am known as Krish Raichand. It is part of my identity and there were times in my life where I used to think that I really need to break out from this, people only put me in that category. But over the years I started looking at it like a positive because I questioned myself that why am I running away from an identity that is only giving me love. There was a time when I started believing in this character as a blessing. Even today, wherever I go in the world, people know K3G as a big Indian celebration. That K3G boy has now evolved into Sahir but Krish is going to be my identity till I am on this planet," he concluded.

Jibraan Khan recently won hearts as Sahir in the latest film, Ishq Vishk Rebound. The film also starred Rohit Saraf, Pashmina Roshan, and Naila Grewal. The film is directed by Nipun Avinash Dharmadhikari and is produced by Ramesh Taurani under the banner Tips Films Limited.
