In a shocking incident in Hyderabad, a physiotherapist allegedly killed his wife and two toddler daughters on the demand of his girlfriend and remained scot-free for almost 45 days. The accused, 32-year-old Boda Praveen, continued living a normal life with his girlfriend for days after the incident, before the police nabbed him.
Praveen allegedly killed his wife Kumari (29) and daughters Krishika (5) and Kritika (3) on the demand of his girlfriend Soni Francis on May 28 and projected it as a car accident. He killed his wife by administering a high dose anaesthetic injection, the name of which has been withheld by police fearing misuse. Subsequently, he killed his two daughters in the front seat of a car by covering their noses and mouths and suffocating them.
After 48 days of the incident, the police arrested Praveen and sent him to judicial remand.
According to Kondal Rao, SHO of Raghunathapalem Police station of Khammam District, Praveen was in the hospital for treatment of minor injuries and returned to Hyderabad to lead a “normal life.”
“Initially, we suspected by seeing needle marks on the body of Kumari. There were no other injuries found on the bodies of Kumari and the kids. After the postmortem, we handed over the dead bodies to their family members. On the same day, an investigation team visited the scene of the offence. The accident was not as serious as Praveen projected. We searched the entire car and found a syringe in it. It was empty, but we treated it as a clue,” Kondal Rao told News18.
The police sent the syringe to the forensic laboratory for further investigation. Meanwhile, Praveen continued living a normal life, working as a physiotherapist at Germanten Hospital in the Attapur area of Hyderabad.
Sources have said that Praveen was staying in a separate rented house with his girlfriend Soni Francis, who is a nurse in the same hospital, for days after the incident and carried no remorse.
“Praveen felt he was completely safe as we didn’t even call him for almost 45 days. He was under the impression that he was out of the case as we initially registered it as an accident case. As soon as we received the forensic report of the syringe, we arrested him in the Attapur area of Hyderabad. Everything had come out in our investigation,” SHO Kondal Rao said.
