California Woman Senses Strange Smell In Kitchen, Finds This Rat-like Creature
Upon removing her gas stove, the US woman saw a small creature with a pink nose staring back at her.
You might have experienced seeing something unusual in a corner of your house or smelling an unfamiliar odour. If it happens in a store or a separate room, it might not be alarming, but if the smell is coming from the kitchen, it’s hard to ignore. A similar incident happened to a woman recently.
This woman noticed a strange smell coming from her kitchen. She couldn’t figure out where it was coming from or why it was there. Then, she saw two eyes staring at her. According to a report by the Daily Star, this incident occurred in the home of 28-year-old Jackie Felix, who shared her story with others.
A woman named Jackie Felix, who works for New Mexico’s health department in Union City, California, noticed a strange smell in her flat and initially thought it was coming from the dustbin. She removed the bin from the kitchen and threw it out, but the smell persisted, making her realise something was wrong. When Jackie moved her cooker away from the wall, she discovered some animal faeces. This discovery frightened her, and she began searching the area more thoroughly.
Upon removing her gas stove, she saw a small creature with a pink nose staring back at her. On closer inspection, she realised it was a possum. Possums are rat-like creatures that belong to the kangaroo family. This possum had made the woman’s stove its home for several days. After a two-hour struggle, Jackie and her flatmate managed to capture the creature in a jar.

Jackie didn’t witness the possum entering the house or the stove, but she was certain the creature had gained access through their back door cat flap. She explained that, although they didn’t capture it on camera or anything, that must have been how it got in.
