Barcelona are reportedly looking to hijack Liverpool’s midfield target Dani Olmo in the ongoing summer transfer window. As per MD, via Mundo Deportivo, it has been reported that Barcelona have offered the RB Leipzig footballer a six-year deal.
The same report claimed that the Hansi Flick-coached side is also willing to pay the Bundesliga outfit €60 million for the player’s transfer to Spain. Apart from Barcelona, Liverpool have also been strongly linked with Olmo this summer.
With the Premier League side already missing out on the signing of Leny Yoro, Liverpool’s sporting director Richard Huges might be willing to spend big to secure Olmo’s move to Anfield.

Dani Olmo’s €60 million release clause is set to expire this Sunday. But it is understood that both the player and his representatives have managed to get RB Leipzig to maintain the figure for a few more weeks. The report from Mundo Deportivo also suggests that Olmo, with his agents and family, will ‘study’ Barcelona’s offer in depth.
They will also be responsible for conveying the Spaniard’s decision to RB Leipzig who will have the final say. Barcelona are understood to be currently offering lesser pay for the first two seasons to fit the contract within the ‘fair play’ regulations established by LaLiga. Olmo’s third year at Barcelona is expected to see a salary increase.
Apart from Liverpool and Barcelona’s interests, Dani Olmo is also currently on the radars of other European giants. Manchester City have reportedly been in the race to sign the Spaniard since the beginning of July.

A report from One Football had described Olmo’s track to Manchester City as ‘really hot’. Pep Guardiola supposedly sees the Spaniard as an ideal candidate to replace Belgian midfielder Kevin De Bruyne. Olmo is reportedly also receptive to a move to Manchester United.
Dani Olmo has been in the headlines throughout the Euro 2024. He scored a crucial goal in the quarterfinals against Germany, helping Spain win 2-1. Olmo’s contribution played a massive role as Spain eventually beat England in the final to become the most successful team in the history of the tournament. He was one of the six players to have become the Euro 2024 highest goal scorer (3).
Dani Olmo featured in 25 games for RB Leipzig while scoring eight goals and providing five assists last season.
