Akshay Kumar has maintained a remarkable presence in Bollywood. Since his debut in 1991, Akshay has tasted both successes and failures in the film industry. In recent years, several of his films have failed to perform well at the box office, including his latest release, Sarfira. The actor will next appear in Mudassar Aziz’s Khel Khel Mein, and fans are hopeful that the film will turn the tables for the superstar. Recently, while talking to a leading media outlet, Akshay addressed the evolving dynamics of audience preferences and mentioned that he has become more mindful of his film choices now.
During an interview with Forbes India, Akshay Kumar discussed how audiences have become more selective about the content they choose to watch in cinemas. The actor said it has become crucial to pick entertaining and unique projects. “I’ve become more mindful of the content that resonates with the current times and provides an experience that justifies a trip to the theater. It is about finding stories that connect deeply with the audience,” Akshay added.
When asked about his greatest strength over his three-decade career, Akshay said it’s his discipline and work ethic. The actor further shared he follows a strict timetable for sleeping, eating and working. “Staying fit physically and mentally has also played a crucial role in my longevity in the industry,” Akshay mentioned.
On the professional front, Akshay Kumar was last seen in Sudha Kongara’s film Sarfira. It was a remake of Sudha’s Tamil movie Soorarai Pottru (2020) which starred Suriya in the lead role. In the Hindi remake, Akshay plays Vir Mhatre, who strives to make his dream of starting a low-cost airline come true while facing opposition from rival airline owners who threaten his business and passenger safety.
Akshay’s upcoming film Khel Khel Mein is a comedy drama film. It also stars Taapsee Pannu, Aparshakti Khurana, Vaani Kapoor and Fardeen Khan in pivotal roles. The film is slated to be released in theatres on August 15. The actor will be also seen in director Subhash Kapoor’s upcoming Jolly LLB 3 alongside Arshad Warsi and Huma Qureshi.
